What's Happening in the Media Center?

Kennard participated in the 18th Annual African American Read-in on Monday, February 5, 2007.  This activity was sponsored in 49 states, the West Indies and in African countries on this date in an effort to keep literacy as a main focal pint of Black History Month.  County Executive Charlie Dooley read to the primary students in kindergarten and first grade in the Kennard CJA Library.  For the sake of tradition, and to keep the literacy chain in force, all staff and some students were asked to read a book, poem, or other narrative written by an African American to their classes.

For those who are interested, Mrs. Ross has kept a log of all the narratives by our school on that day.

Thank you to all who participated and a special thanks to County Executive Dooley!
